Press Release - New Collaboration
18th June 2026

Salos are delighted to announce that our sister Company, Enhancing Excellence backs BrainFit Neurotech to Bring Real-Time Cognitive Monitoring to High-Risk Industries.
Industrial safety and human factors specialist Enhancing Excellence has announced a founding investment and strategic partnership with BrainFit Neurotech Inc.
The collaboration will enable real-time cognitive monitoring into the world’s highest-consequence workplaces, where human factors, such as fatigue, stress, and workload drive the majority of operational incidents.
BrainFit’s technology uses functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) - the same class of neuroimaging as an fMRI - miniaturised into standard industrial headwear like hard hats, bump caps, and baseball caps. Designed specifically for harsh environments, the sensors measure blood flow in the prefrontal cortex and remain highly accurate despite sweat, heat, or heavy movement.
The system translates this data into a CoreScore - a simple, actionable indicator of a worker's cognitive readiness. Unlike traditional metrics, the CoreScore benchmarks an individual solely against their own historical baseline rather than a generic average, ensuring data privacy is built into the system by design.
Mathew Norbury, Co-Founder and CEO of BrainFit said, “You’d never let an intoxicated worker onto a high-risk site yet, we routinely allow people to operate when they’re dangerously impaired by fatigue, heat, or extreme stress.
Grant and the team Enhancing Excellence bring the deep, practical industry credibility we need to get this technology into the rooms where safety decisions are actually made. Having them on board as both investors and hands-on partners is a massive milestone for us.”
Grant Wallace, Chairman of Enhancing Excellence and Managing Director of Salos Sunesis said, “We are putting our capital and our reputation behind this because we’re convinced it will save lives. Safety critical industries have used predictive maintenance and active monitoring for machinery for decades, but the missing piece has always been the people operating that equipment.
“BrainFit’s fNIRS tech is the first wearable solution I’ve seen that genuinely works in a real-world environment. We are already seeing strong interest from customers in our oil and gas group, Salos Sunesis, and we expect the first field deployments to be on offshore rigs and in refineries.”
The five figure investment forms part of BrainFit's founding round and precedes the company's pre-seed raise, which is currently live. BrainFit is preparing paid field trials with leading oil and gas operators and service companies in the second half of 2026 and are looking for more likeminded Operators to join these trials and tackle this new and important safety frontier.
