Effective coaching is what Salos Sunesis (SSL) is all about.
Note the word ‘effective’. For coaching is a much misunderstood term, despite it being central to most disciplines in life, particularly in business. And as a result, many people in a coaching role are not really a coach at all.

Coaching, in the eyes of SSL, is a job to be handled by an expert, sufficiently strong in his or her field to be perceived by the team as a ‘guru’.

Who meets our coaching criteria?

To achieve the objectives of the client and meet SSL’s exacting standards a coach has to be an experienced person who has been there and either done or can clearly relate to most of the skills being coached.

It is important to SSL that our coaches understand the pressures and stress levels of different individuals – at whatever position they hold. The coach will mix well and be approachable at all levels. We also believe that our coaches don’t actually perform tasks for candidates, but rather encourage them to create their own solutions. This leads to far greater growth: the coach will provide guidance and encourage such matters as lines of communication, promoting individual and team ‘ownership’.

In most situations, at some point, teams will find themselves in trouble. It’s a fact of life. However, the real winners and winning teams in this world are those which learn how to handle and cope with trouble.

Dealing successfully with challenging issues is what makes a team excel and avoid becoming the also-rans.
